Storing your Power Sports Vehicles for the winter
Ethanol likes water ! (This is bad in fuel systems)

Water will separate from the fuel and combine with the ethanol ( Heavier than fuel goes to bottom) where the fuel pick up is.

Ethanol over as little as 3 weeks will create more water (bigger problem) See picture below.

Your ATV / UTV fuel systems are vented so there is going to be moisture in the fuel system.

Problems this will cause to your UTV or ATV

  • Lean-burn situations in the engine (Bad)
  • Varnish and gumming in the fuel system
  • Increase in combustion temperatures

As of October 2014 most gas purchased has E10 10% Ethanol
They are currently testing the effects of E15  15% Ethanol

The problem will only get worse!

If you want trouble free riding and want your Side x Side's and ATV's starting up in the spring and all summer long you need to start doing what will prevent the problems.

Amsoil products are a great source for this.

Amsoil gasoline stabilizer is for periods left more than 30 days.

Amsoil Quickshot - Stops the separation of water from the fuel-this needs to start being a part of your fuel supply every time.

Amsoil P.I. performance improver.  This is a fuel system cleaner should use every other tank of gasoline.

The reason I recommend Amsoil is they are testing and improving there products specifically for the power sports field.

They do not make a product just because they see marketing dollars

If you would like more information about winterizing your UTV or ATV give me a call or would like my company to perform this service for you.
